# Connect iClosed to Claude

Add the iClosed MCP server to Claude as a **custom connector**. You set it up once in Claude on the web or in Claude Desktop, and it is then available in Claude on web, Desktop and mobile.

**Before you connect:** MCP must be turned on for your workspace (**Settings → Developer → MCP**, by an account owner or super admin). You don't need an API key. [More about requirements](/docs/mcp/introduction#before-you-connect).

## 1. Open Connectors and add a custom connector

In Claude, open **Customize → Connectors** and click **Add** (top right).

On a Claude **Team** or **Enterprise** plan, an owner of your Claude organization adds the connector once in **Organization settings → Connectors**. Members then connect it from **Customize → Connectors** and continue from [step 5](#5-confirm-the-browser-handoff).

The **Add custom connector** dialog asks for a name and a remote MCP server URL.

Add custom connector dialog in Claude with empty Name and Remote MCP server URL fields.
## 2. Enter the name and MCP URL

1. **Name:** `iClosed`. This label only appears in your connectors list.
2. **Remote MCP server URL:** `https://mcp.iclosed.io/mcp`

Add custom connector dialog filled with name iClosed and URL https://mcp.iclosed.io/mcp.
Click **Continue**.

## 3. Keep authentication set to Always required

Claude detects that the server requires sign-in. Keep **Always required** selected. Don't choose **None**.

## 4. Let Claude register an OAuth client

Under **OAuth client**, keep **No client ID — register one automatically** selected. Claude registers itself with iClosed as you connect, so you don't need to create anything under **Settings → Developer → OAuth Clients**.

Leave **Additional request headers** empty.

OAuth client settings with No client ID register one automatically selected, and an empty additional headers section.
Click **Add**.

## 5. Confirm the browser handoff

Claude opens a browser page: **Finish connecting a connector?** Continue only if you started this flow from Claude yourself.

Click **Continue connecting**.

## 6. Sign in and allow access in iClosed

Sign in to iClosed if prompted. The consent screen **Claude wants access** appears.

Because Claude registered itself a moment ago, the app shows a **Self-registered · Unverified** badge. iClosed has not reviewed this app registration. Check that the redirect notice points to `https://claude.ai`, then review the workspace and the permissions requested.

Click **Allow access** only if you want Claude to use those permissions in this workspace. You can only grant access your iClosed role already has.

## 7. Return to Claude

The browser asks to open Claude, then shows a **Connected** page. You can close the tab.

## 8. Set tool permissions

In **Customize → Connectors**, open the **iClosed** connector to see its **Tool permissions** list.

| Setting | When to use |
| --- | --- |
| **Always allow** | Tools run without asking. |
| **Needs approval** | Claude asks before each tool call. Recommended for write tools such as **Create deal** or **Cancel event call**. |
| **Blocked** | Claude can't use the tool. |
| **Custom** | Mix the settings above per tool. |

## 9. Check that it works

Start a new chat and ask: **"Show me my contacts in iClosed."** Claude should call the iClosed connector and answer from your workspace.

For more ideas, see [Example prompts](/docs/mcp/example-prompts). If something goes wrong, see [Troubleshooting](/docs/mcp/troubleshooting).

## Disconnect

To stop Claude from using iClosed, remove the connector in **Customize → Connectors**, and revoke it in iClosed under **Settings → Developer → Connected apps**.
